Nemaslug® contains natural parasitic nematodes that attack slugs pests by entering through their natural body openings. Once inside, they release symbiotic bacteria that stop the slug feeding within 3 days!
Nemaslug® provides superior control of slugs in protected and outdoor crops including ornamentals, vegetables and salads. It is unique in providing persistent uninterrupted activity and is unaffected by wet weather. Applied as a spray drench, Nemaslug® is active in the soil where most slugs are active.

Why Nemaslug®?

A majority of the time, slugs usually stay underground particularly if there is a source of food beneath the soil such as potatoes and germinating seeds. Some slug killers are only applied to the surface of the soil and therefore fail to treat slugs beneath the soil. Nemaslug® kills slugs whilst in the soil.

Nemaslug® does not contain metaldehyde like some slug killers, which irritates the slug causing it to produce more mucus causing death by dehydration although slugs can sometimes lose up to half of their body weight by dehydration and still recover within two hours of exposure to water.

Nemaslug® contains no methiocarb which is non-selective chemical carbamate that acts as a poison. This can be toxic to animals and birds.

A regular regime of using Nemaslug® every six weeks is the best way to keep slugs at bay throughout the growing season
Using Nemaslug®
Apply Nemaslug® using a watering can March-Oct to moist soil when the soil temperature is 5ºC (40ºF) or over (although the nematodes are capable of surviving the odd frost so if the temperature falls after you have applied Nemaslug they will still be effective.) Alternatively, nematodes can be applied using a garden feeder method. Please ask for details.
